Dance-hall singer Patoranking began the new year with a blessing from the veteran musician, Daddy Showkey.
Africans are very traditional people. Believing the blessings to be very important, the welcome any opportunity to receive it from the elders. Some come in form of words alone, while others might come along with a ritual of sprinkling water, or spraying liqueur.
