Earlier, the Nigerian army has rescued more women and children from Sambisa Forest through the Kawuri and Konduga end on Thursday, April 30. (Scroll down for footage)
According to the official Twitter account of the Defence Headquarters, 234 more people were freed.
According to Premium Times update, Chris Olukolade, the defense spokesman, confirmed the development:
“This set in addition to the previous individuals earlier rescued during the ongoing operation in the area.”
He added that the military assault on the forest continues from various fronts with the aim of rescuing hostages and destroying all terrorists’ camps and facilities in the forest.
On April 28 the troops rescued 293 women and children, and on the next day 160 more people were said to have been freed in the same area.
